In 2006 Iris Ministries founded the Village of Joy School in Pemba, Mozambique. Our Village of Joy School offers education to over 1000 children in grades one through seven (with recently given permission to expand to grade twelve) using the government standardized curriculum. Upon starting our work in Pemba, the great need for education struck our hearts. The public schools cannot accommodate all of the children, and many village families are too poor to purchase the required school materials. This situation left many children spending their days aimlessly wandering the city. God stirred our hearts to build a school to offer education to all children free of charge. We long to see this province prosper and excel, and education is central to seeing that happen!

As valuable as it is for every child to be educated, it is even more important for each
child to hear the Gospel and come to know the deep love of Our Heavenly Father.
We run an after-school program called Village Feeding where we feed children with
natural food, rice and beans, and spiritual food, the Word of God. We use worship,
games, drama, and teaching to minister to this new generation and draw them into the
Father’s house!

Through School Sponsorship, you are partnering with us to reach the youth of
